Notes From the Studio

A 6-Week Creative Business Series for Photographers & Creatives

If you’ve ever wished you had someone to walk you through the real foundations of a creative business — pricing, licensing, systems, confidence, portfolio direction — this series is for you.

Notes From the Studio is a 6-week email series where I share the lessons, frameworks, and shifts I’ve learned from running an active commercial photography business and photography studio.

Just clear, actionable guidance that actually moves your business forward.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

Two bowls of pasta with ground meat and herbs on a rustic stone table, accompanied by a small bowl of oil with red spice, a plate of cheese, olives, glasses of rosé wine, and green napkins, with textured furniture nearby.

Over six weeks, we’ll cover:

Week 1 — The Foundation
Why talented creatives stay “busy” instead of profitable, and how to shift into clarity and intention.

Week 2 — Pricing With Confidence
How to price your work using a real commercial structure (creative fee, production, and usage).

Week 3 — Licensing Made Simple
Understanding usage and protecting the value of your work — without the overwhelm.

Week 4 — Systems That Support Your Creativity
The tools and workflows that keep my studio organized and my brain calm.

Week 5 — Portfolio Power
How to curate your portfolio for the clients you want next.

Week 6 — Sustainability & Community
Why longevity comes from support, boundaries, and connection — not hustle.

Every email is designed to be something you can actually apply that same week.

Why learn from me

For me, your development is personal.

After struggling for years to feel confident within the world of commercial photography, I made a shift that began to change everything.

What started as a quest to conquer my own insecurities has turned into building and refining a variety of systems, resources, workflows, and standards that has helped myself — and now, other photographers — step fully into their careers and confidently show up to create their best work.

I’ve immersed myself fully into the world of commercial photography, playing every role from recipe developer to brand collaborator. I’ve developed a thriving business I’m thrilled to call my own, built and currently operate my own studio, and have landed dream clients — from photographing several cookbooks to working with internationally-renowned brands, like Delta, Patron, Magnolia, Simon and Schuster, and Target.

I believe strongly in harnessing the power of community to create a better future — and that hoarding knowledge and resources only hurts our industry collectively.
